The TRBA 100 "Protective measures for activities involving biological agents in laboratories" specifies the requirements of the Biological Agents Ordinance.

The latest edition from October 2013 has now been updated and published at the beginning of this week.

Here is the link to the english website of the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA), though the TRBA 100 November 2025 release has not been translated yet.

For your convenience, we are now proud to share an english version with you here: TRBA_100_November2025_english.pdf.

There are some new aspects which you should consider for implementation, for example in chapter 4.1. sentence (8) on page 16:

"(8) Mobile devices and accessories, e.g. laptops, smartphones, headphones, which are not required for work purposes, must not be stored in the work area or used with protective gloves. Mobile devices required for work purposes generally remain in the protection level area. Their use, including cleaning and disinfection, must be regulated in the hygiene plan."
